Sleeping under crystalline starscapes, sitting around a camp fire, swapping stories, and tucking into delicious food you didn't have to prepare . . .
This is a real wilderness pack saddling experience. You get to unplug from the workaday and experience the deep healing of the Australian Bush and quality time with horses. You'll be river bathing and swag sleeping as your spirit is soothed by the unique sounds of nature in the Moonpar State Forest area, near Dorrigo, NSW. Moonpar covers approximately 2,400 hectares and borders on the spectacular Nymboi Binderay National Park. The rivers and creeks are crystal clear tumbling waters, the tallowoods tower above us.
You will enjoy 4 days of riding (15-20 kms per day) through spectacular scenery, surrounded by wildlife. Our Moonlighting at Moonpar Trek is fully catered - succulent camp fire cooking, billy tea, home baked cakes for smoko and afternoon nibbles. All you have to do is dismount and enjoy!
You can ride one of our horses or bring your own experienced pack horses. If you have a green pack horse this is the perfect opportunity to get him or her out and about, supported by experienced pack saddle horses and trekkers. Bring along your own pack saddle and swag and set your horse up to be the perfect packy!
This trek is vehicle supported and camp is set up before you arrive - the fire will be hot and the beer will be cold!
